Day 1: Arrival HO CHI MINH CITY
Arrive in Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to hotel. Tour the main streets: the former Presidential Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office. Check-in hotel. Enjoy dinner with traditional music show at Royal Court Restaurant. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City (L/D).
Day 2: HO CHI MINH CITY-CHAU DOC
Leave Ho Chi Minh City and head south-west to Chau Doc, on the Cambodian border, deep in the Mekong Delta. Break the journey at Sa Dec, a delta town famous for its cultivation of exotic fruit and flowers, to visit the orchards and garden of Mr Tu Ton. Continue to Chau Doc and transfer to hotel on arrival. In the late afternoon drive up Sam Mountain to watch the sun set over the Cambodian border. Overnight in Chau Doc (B/L/D)
Day 3: CHAU DOC-CAN THO
After breakfast take a boat to visit the unique farms where fish are bred in wooden cages suspended under floating houses on the river. Continue by boat to visit a village of stilt houses belonging to the Cham minority where colourful traditional textiles are woven on old wooden looms. Return to dry land in time to leave Chau Doc for Can Tho via Thot Not, 45km to the north of Can Tho. Visit the bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh before continuing to the Thot Not Stork Sanctuary. Watch from a viewing tower above the tree tops as thousands of egrets, herons and cormorants arrive to roost in the branches. Continue on to Can Tho and transfer to hotel on arrival. Day 4: CAN THO-VINH LONG-HO CHI MINH CITY
Leave Can Tho after breakfast for Vinh Long. On arrival in Vinh Long take a boat trip to visit the cottage industries of Cho Cua village. Visit a ceramic tile factory, a tofu and fish sauce factory, a blacksmith’s, a roof thatcher’s and a rice husking business. Continue to Cai Be floating market by boat and then onwards to Ho Chi Minh City by road. Transfer to hotel on arrival in Ho Chi Minh City. (B/L/D)
Day 5: HO CHI MINH CITY – PHNOM PENH
Leave Ho Chi Minh City early in the morning, take the express bus to Moc Bai Border. Stop at Trang Bang Tay Ninh to have breakfast with special local dish “Banh Canh Trang Bang” , then proceed to Phnom Penh. Arrive Cambodia's capital city Phnom Penh at approximately 2:00p.m. Visit Wat Phnom, site of a 13th century Pagoda. Check in hotel and enjoy traditional body and foot massage (B/L/D).
Day 6: PHNOM PENH
A full day's sightseeing in Phnom Penh, regarded by many as the most beautiful of all the French-built cities in Indochina. Included in the tour are The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, The Tuol Sleng Museum, The National Museum and the Killing Fields (B/L/D).
Day 7: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP
This morning there will be a transfer to Phompenh port for the boat ride to Siem Reap. The boat winding our way on Tonle Sap river, taking in such spectacular view of rural life on water. Arrival Siem Reap, transfer to hotel. Visit to the Angkor Wat Temple before making our way to the summit Phnom Bakheng Hill to watch the sunset. Enjoy diner with traditional Khmer folk performance of Apsara. Overnight in Sieam Reap (B/L/D).
Day 8: ANGKOR TEMPLE COMPLEX
Morning visit Banteay Kdei Temple, then drive through the countryside to reach the magnificent Banteay Srei temple - the Citadel of Women, the largest and most impressive temple - Angkor Wat, was built between 1112 and 1152 by King Suryavarman II. Its layout and scale are simply breathtaking. From here we proceed to the top of Phnom Bakheng Hill, remains for a truly memorable sunset. (B/L/D).
Day 9: ANGKOR TEMPLE COMPLEX
Today we visit the fortified Royal City of Angkor Thom. The most important monuments are located in the centre of the city, namely the Bayon, Baphoun and the Terrace of Elephants. The Bayon in particular is a fascinating piece of architecture and one of the most photographed. It is a bizarre structure, with a total of 54 towers elaborately decorated with over 200 enigmatic smiling faces. From Angkor Thom we proceed to Ta Prohm temple and then in the afternoon we drive out to the Tonle Sap Lake, Asia's largest inland lake to spend a couple of hours on the water. (B/L/D).
Day 10: SIEM REAP
Breakfast at the hotel. At leisure until the departure transfer to airport for your flight onward. (B)
